Travel Essentials

As a frequent traveler and self-proclaimed beauty aficionado, products that will make my life easy when I travel are a must. But I also want products that will help me maintain my so-glossy-I-look-sweaty vibe. My jetsetting life requires me to constantly be on the go, and I am always looking for ways to minimize the amount of things I bring with me — without sacrificing my glam. That’s how I fell in love with Nudestix. Nudestix carries all of my travel makeup essentials, no matter which part of the globe I’m headed to.

What I love about the brand is that I can create a full look for my entire face using just Nudestix products, and I only need minimal tools (which is especially great when I have to apply my makeup on a plane or in a car on the way to a meeting). I often smudge out Nudestix products with just my fingers, a beauty sponge, or the Buff & Fluff Brush, depending on what my mood is feeling like.

If you’re like me and are on the hunt for makeup that is easy and foolproof, but still looks like you took an hour getting ready, here are a few of my favorite travel essentials from Nudestix.

Tinted Blur Stick

Regardless of whether or not I’m traveling, I absolutely cannot live without the Tinted Blur Stick. (For reference, I fluctuate between Medium 5 and Medium 6, depending on how tan I am.) This stick has truly changed my makeup routine for the better. It blends out beautifully, regardless of what tool you use, and truly gives you the “my skin but better” look that beauty lovers are really into right now.

I love that it has a semi-matte finish, because it still leaves my face looking dewy, but it also helps control and oil that may break through my T-zone. I’m typically very dry — especially after I’ve spent long hours on a plane — but the Tinted Blur Stick never clings to the dryness or texture that my skin sometimes has. The coco and green tea emollients are noncomedogenic, but are still hydrating enough to help my skin feel moisturized throughout the day. Other foundations and face bases I’ve used in the past have dried up my skin over the course of a long day of wear, but the Tinted Blur Stick has never failed me.

I also use lighter shades to highlight and color correct. Light 2 is my go-to for highlighting under my eyes and in the center of my face, because it has a slight peachy tone which both brightens and cancels out any darkness.

The Tinted Blur Stick effortlessly blends in with my skin tone, and layers well with other skincare and makeup products — regardless of whether or not they’re from Nudestix. I can safely say that the Tinted Blur Stick has replaced every foundation in my makeup collection (which is admittedly quite massive).

Nudies Bronze Matte — Bondi Bae

For bronzing and contour, I love the Nudies Bronze Matte in Bondi Bae. It’s not too warm-toned or cool-toned, so it works for both bronze and contour. Even though it’s matte, it still has that signature Nudestix dewy finish that leaves my skin looking sun-kissed. My skin tone rests comfortably in the “medium” range, and I love Bondi Bae works for me when I’m both tanned and not. It’s a universally-flattering brown that adds the perfect amount of dimension to my face.

When I’m feeling particularly lazy — which is pretty par for the course when I’m traveling — I also like using Bondi Bae in the creases of my eyelids, and as a darker nude lip shade for an all-over monochromatic look.

Nudies Blush Matte — In The Nude

My all-time favorite blush (from Nudestix and beyond) is the Nudies Blush Matte in In the Nude. It’s a beautiful neutral pink that flatters me in both my palest and tannest. I love that it blends out effortlessly and gives me that slight “I’m kind of blushing” wash of color. It adds just a little bit of oomph to make my face look more alive, which is an absolute must when I’m just hopping off a plane. It also works for a different version of a monochromatic look if I swipe it on my eyes and lips.

Nudies All Over Face Color Glow — Hey Honey

I have never found a highlighter that I like more than the Nudies Glow in Hey Honey. It really does give you that invisible, wet-skin, bronzey glow that looks perfect when you’re taking a travel selfie. I get compliments every time I wear it (which is every single day). It’s one of the few cream highlighters that I’ve found that doesn’t feel sticky upon application and doesn’t lift up other products underneath it, including powders. It also doesn’t transfer throughout the day, but still maintains its glossy glow.

I like using this on the high points of my face (cheekbones, brow bones, Cupid’s bow, and center of the nose and chin). I also use it as a gloss on my eyelids when I want that look, as an inner corner highlight, and on the center of my lips when I want a little extra oomph. (That trick works on both matte and satin-finish lipsticks, or even just a lip balm.)

Magnetic Matte Eye Color — Terra, Fig, Chocolate

The Magnetic Matte Eye Colors have made me completely stop using powder eyeshadows when I’m traveling — no kidding. I love how small the sticks are, which makes them easy to transport (no need for giant palettes), they blend out effortlessly with just my fingers (I don’t even travel with eyeshadow brushes anymore), and these three colors allow me to create any neutral look I could possibly want, from simple to smokey.

Terra is a beautiful transition shade, or also works for a neutral all-over wash of color. I use Fig as a crease color, or I put it all over my lid and buff it out for a neutral smokey eye, and Chocolate works as a neutral deepening shade in both the crease and outer corner of the eye.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Eyeliner — Black Moon, Bronze Patina

The Rock ‘n’ Roller roller wheel eyeliner is so easy to apply, it’s perfect for on-the-go application. It’s a totally waterproof formula that never smudges or transfers, and it dries quickly so I can apply my makeup in a hurry. Bronze Patina is my go-to for more neutral makeup looks, and I use Black Moon when I’m feeling a little more dramatic.

Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel — Brown Black

I’m very particular about my eyebrows, and regardless of whatever other makeup I have on, I always like my brows to be done. The Eyebrow Stylus & Gel is, in my opinion, an unsung hero of the Nudestix product line. I use the triangle-shaped pencil to fill in sparse areas and define my brow shape, and the waterproof gel on the other end is perfect for setting my brows in place.

Magnetic Matte Lip Color — Boho / Gel Color Lip & Cheek Balm — Haven, Tay Tay

I live for a nude lip, but always need different ones because I get bored. But three that I always pack in my makeup kit are the Magnetic Matte Lip in Boho and Gel Lip & Cheek Balm in Haven and Tay Tay. I love that they enhance my natural lip color, and I can mix and match them, depending on my mood. (I also like using the Hey Honey tip I mentioned above to add dimension to my lips.)

Hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorite Nudestix travel essentials. Pack them in a Nudestix pouch when you’re headed out on your next jet setting adventure. Bon voyage!
